Dr Alison Wells BSc Hons, MA, PGCert, DipTESOL

Alison specialises in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and is passionate about helping learners to improve their academic writing. Your lessons will also include a strong focus on contextually appropriate language use to help you speak English naturally and smoothly in academic and informal settings.

Alison has a PhD in Education from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s in Applied Linguistics from York University, Toronto, a Bachelor’s in Computational Linguistics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK. She also holds postgraduate vocational qualifications in teaching English as a foreign language (DELTA) and teaching at university (PGC-HE). She is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She has taught in France, Spain, Japan and Canada and has published four books on language learning and cultural exchange.

Mark Wells BSc Hons, MA, AMIMA

Mark specialises in exam preparation and business English and has a keen interest in effective language learning skills. His expert tuition helps exam takers to understand the requirements of all exam sections and to improve their command of English to get the best score possible. Your lessons will focus on all seven language areas as well as exam taking techniques and practice tests. Your lessons will also include a strong focus on contextually appropriate language use to help you write and speak English naturally and smoothly in business and informal settings.

Mark holds the gold-standard teaching qualification, the CELTA from Cambridge. He also has a degree in mathematics and has undertaken further studies at the University of Cambridge. He has taught in the UK, the Middle East and France and is a Member of the Institute for Mathematics. Drawing on his career with the international company Saint Gobain, Mark supports corporate clients to enhance their written and spoken English for career enhancement.
